Neil Island
This beautiful island
is connected to Port Blair by a boat service running four days week with
inter-island shipping services, 36 kms from Port Blair. This island epitomises
the essence of the Andaman with green forest covers and beautiful beaches. The
island has accommodation facilities and tourists can stay overnight in Hawabill
Nest guest house run by the Directorate of Tourism. Best time to visit this
island in October to May.
Havelock Island
Havelock is the largest island in
Ritchie's archipelago, and the most intensively cultivated, settled like any in
the region by Bengali refugees after Partition. Its landscape beauty attracts
tourists with its beaches, untouched forests, panoramic views. The Radhanagar
beach is really worth a visit. This island is 54 kms far from Port Blair and
boat services are also available.
Long
Island
A small island, 82-km from Port
Blair, its welcoming evergreen forests, sandy beaches and clean, unpolluted
atmosphere makes it a popular destination. Connected by boat four times a week
from Phoenix Bay Jetty, this island offers an excellent beach at Lalaji bay, a
beautiful beach with lush green is a hot shot tourist spot. This is a good
island to head for if one wants to side-step the hordes at Havelock , but don't
have time to tackle the long trip north.
Rangat
For an ecologically conscious
tourist, Rangat is worth a visit. Rangat has untouched sandy beaches and rich
foliage of evergreen trees. 15-km away from here at Curtbert Bay beach is the
turtle nesting ground. Rangat is also a major staging post on the journey north
of Andaman Islands. Here one can explore the untouched nature, clear blue sea.

Mayabunder
Known for
its fascinating scenery and beautiful beaches, Mayabunder is inhabitated
by people who migrated from East Pakistan, Burma and also by ex-convicts. There
is also a turtle nesting ground at Karmatang Beach. Situated in the northern
part of middle Andaman, Mayabunder offers excellent scenic beauty and beautiful
beaches.
Diglipur
Situated in North Andaman Island,
Diglipur provides a rare experience for eco-friendly tourists. It is famous for
its juicy oranges, exotic rice and marine life. One can also visit the Kalipur
beach at Ramnagar. The highest point on the Island, Saddle peak, 732 m. high is
quite close to this place. Andaman's only river Kalpong, flows form here. The
first hydroelectric project of the island is being set up on this river.
Barren
Island
At a distance of about 135-km from
Port Blair is the land of volcano, Barren Island, the only active volcano in
India. The Island, about 3-km long, has a big crater of the volcano, rising
abruptly from the sea, about ½-km from the shore and is about 150 fathoms deep.
The island can be visited on board vessels.
Little Andaman
This island has a beautiful beach at
Butler Bay, a waterfall and plantation of oil palms. Apart from this there are
several sandy beaches all along the coastline of the island. The break water at
Hut Bay offers an excellent view to the tourists. Little Andaman is the
vegetable bowl for the Nicobar group of islands. The Onge tribe, inhabits these
island along with the Nicobarese and other settler form erstwhile East Pakistan
and other places. A Water fall, beach and coconut plantations add to its charm
